We willcontinue todiscuss various aspects of integrable discrete systems i.e.difference equations. This is avast area of research and currentlyvery active. We will not touch every topic within this area, rather wewill choose certain topics and discuss them in detail. Furthermore ourapproach is computational, that is, the students should be able torepeat on their own the derivations that were made during lectures.Therefore it would be good if the students had access to a computeralgebra system (such as Maple or Mathematica, or something else) fortheir computations.

Jarmo Hietarinta，芬兰图尔库大学教授，芬兰物理科学院院士，曾任图尔库大学数学与自然科学学院院长。博士毕业于美国纽约州立大学石溪分校，曾工作于美国俄亥俄州立大学、美国马里兰大学和芬兰赫尔辛基大学。是世界著名数学物理学家，研究成果发表于Physics Report、Phys.Rev.Lett.等国际顶级期刊，是Symmetries & Integrability of Difference Equations系列会议创始人之一，多次担任大会主席。2006年被授予芬兰白玫瑰一等骑士荣誉称号（芬兰国家级荣誉奖，由总统亲自颁奖，授予在各领域做出突出贡献的人士）。
